Miami Paper Asks Readers for Online Donations

Among the many ideas being tossed around for saving journalism is to require readers to pay for online access. The Wall Street Journal does it, and now the Miami Herald is testing the waters. "In its message to users, the paper says: 'If you value The Miami Herald's local news reporting and investigations, but prefer the convenience of the internet, please consider a voluntary payment for the web news that matters to you.'"
